Frequent Questions
What is the difference between DJ Sizzle & the competition?
Tough question because there are so many variables.. It is important to separate the professional DJ from the backyard DJ. You don’t want an irresponsible DJ that may show up late or not at all for your event. I use an online management system. I can check your dates availability from anywhere and edit events at any time. Also I am not a DJ that will drop my price just to get your business. This is not a bad thing. I like to think I am good at what I do. I rely on customer referrals & try to maintain standard pricing. (Approx $60.00+hr). Normally, first time offers or small parties I can negotiate price to accommodate the event but to be quite honest there are DJ’s that will host your event at a base price of $125 (4hrs) give or take for just to get the job, they will set up, sit on a computer, let it do the work, get paid, and leave. Not really putting 100% into it. If that is what you want then I am not your guy. When I DJ an event large or small I make sure to be 110% (sound, lighting, sound efx, multiple amps, mixers.. you name it. I am going just as I would at a higher paid or populated event. I mix music live, scratch using records which means I have disposable equipment that wears out (Record Needles, Records Etc..) That all costs money that some DJ’s don’t have to worry about. Why do i have it? To enhance entertainment quality of your event. I have a home studio setup that I practice at daily to make sure I’m at the top of the game. (Pictures available soon) Although I might not be the most inexpensive DJ I believe you pay for what you get. I am there to DJ, entertain, mix music, blend beats, etc.. I am very into every aspect of music from making beats to blending them I can feel a crowd for the type of music they want and the key is dropping the right song at the right time…
I really don’t know what else to put here.. just trying to answer the best I can.. Most of my jobs that I have once I perform people see what the difference is between the guy charging minimal paper versus me. They see what they have received RESULTS.. and as from my schedule they call me back and i am eager to entertain at their event. When you love what you do.. people see that and they like having you around and sharing that experience with you. I encourage you to give me a shot.. if not then that is where it ends.. if you like then we can continue business together.
So to break it down…Don’t hire a professional DJ based on price!
Professional DJ’s can range in price from $300 up to the thousands for a four hour booking depending on what services they offer. Many brides and grooms make the fatal mistake of calling every DJ listed in the phone directory and make their decision based solely on the lowest price. Ask for references. Ask if the DJ has experience with your type of event. (I will provide numerous references upon request)
Note: You pay for what you get… Is your DJ for $125.00 going to have top of the line equipment? How about backup equipment on site? Is he going to entertain the crowd and stir up crowd interaction? Does the music stop in between songs? Does the music fade but is off beat? These are some of the things you will see with you basic DJ. Anyone can grab an Ipod and some equipment & DJ. If that is the case… host the event your self.. save some money!
Does the DJ listen to your input?
I am always looking for advice and customer input. Feel free to call me or email me with any comments/questions/concerns. booking@djsizzle.com
Does your DJ provide a written contract?
This is for your protection and peace of mind. No professional entertainment business would be without one. It is very important that you have your event confirmed in writing.
Does your DJ use professional sound and lighting equipment?
I personally own industry standard equipment. Backed by names like (Rane, Crown, Pioneer, Technics, Shure) My equipment is guaranteed to out perform many of the competitors. If you currently own equipment I am able to easily plug into your house sound. I have extensive knowledge in Sound & Lighting system installation & configuration.
Will your DJ be dressed appropriately for the occasion?
Common sense? T shirt to a wedding come on people!!! Dress for the occasion! If anything special is needed let me know and I will make it happen.
Does your DJ have a variety of music?
I have hundreds of thousands of songs to choose from. (50’s 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s, Pop, Rock, Rap, RnB, Rhythm, Instrumentals, Acapellas, House, Punk etc.. I am very well rounded with music and like to mix it up the best I can to keep all crowds on their toes.
Will your DJ play requests?
A professional disk jockey will listen to your suggestions and play from your song list as well as accommodate your guests’ requests. I personally try to acknowledge every request and play the song as soon as I can. If I don’t have your song I normally will take a note of it and make sure I purchase it for future requests.
Does your DJ have advertising capability (public-events)?
I am also the owner of 2nitelife.com. This internet directory provides a channel to thousands of people 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. With over 65,000 per year and still growing, I have the ability to advertise any public event directly on 2NiteLife.com
